Description:
This set includes concertos performed by Claudio Simone on the 350th anniversary of the birth and 270th anniversary of the death of the Italian Baroque composer "Albinoni". Albinoni was famous at the time as an opera composer, but today he is best known for his famous "Albinoni's Adagio. Albinoni was born into a wealthy family of a paper company that manufactured playing cards and owned several stores in Venice, and despite his extraordinary talent as a singer, violinist, and composer, during his teens he was known among his artistic friends as a "talented amateur" Although his career as a young man is not well known, his Trio Sonata, composed in 1694 and a departure from the old forms of previous years, changed everything, and by the early 1720s Albinoni had maintained his position as the most popular composer for over a decade. Albinoni was pivotal in establishing the three-movement concerto form of rapid-fast-moderate-rapid, and his oboe concertos in particular were among the first of their kind ever published by an Italian composer. The technique, which required particularly fast movements, was used to tie the entire movement together and influenced subsequent composers. Albinoni's concertos were also arranged for solo organ by J.S. Bach. His most important works are his operas, of which about 50 were composed, of which only three survive, but most, including his solo chamber cantatas, have been lost except for a few arias. Albinoni did not compose much in his later years, and according to his death certificate, he was bedridden for the last two years of his life.(1/2) Warner Music Japan
