Description:
In a world of chaos and conflict, the rainbow-colored melody of impermanence and beauty echoes through this merciless world of chaos and conflict. A new world of sound performed by Iceland's artistic treasure, Sigur Rs, with its fragilely beautiful, isolated and one-of-a-kind view of the world. The long-awaited new studio album "ATA", the first in about 10 years, has been completed. Analog LPs in beautiful packaging will be released at the same time! Sigur Rs is an Icelandic artistic treasure, a post-rock band with an ephemerally beautiful, isolated, and one-of-a-kind worldview. They are releasing their first new studio album in about 10 years, since "KVEIKUR" in May 2013. In the past few years, they have been playing live, releasing anniversary editions and reissues of past works, and releasing mixtapes. This latest album is also their first since the departure of drummer Ollie DiRaso in 2018 and the return of multi-instrumentalist Kathan Sveinsson, who left the band in 2012.Their latest album, "ATTA," was self-produced by the band and was recorded at Sundlaugin Studio in Reykjavik, Iceland, with the string parts recorded at Abbey Road Studios, a historic studio in London. The album sounds like a Sigur Rs album, but I think it's more introverted than before. The strings are very expansive, but the sound is more inward than outward," says frontman Yoncy. But it is that kind of inner introspection that attracts Sigur Rs's cult following. Their starry-eyed celestial sound, mixed with Icelandic vocals and Vonlenska (their own language), connects directly to the listener's heart and soul in the most primal of ways. When we do this, we always talk about how each album could be our last," Yonsey adds. We're always thinking about climate change, doom-scrolling, and going to hell. When we made this album, the world seemed a little bleak. But maybe there is hope.Where there's darkness, there's light."
